Tierney Strachan provides topside control equipment for Total’s Forvie subsea development

Through contracts with Wood Group Engineering and Dril-Quip, Tierney Strachan has provided the topside controls equipment for the Forvie field development off the Dunbar platform. The scope of work included:

• Provision of topside controls for Alwyn platform equipment including new slug catcher, interfaces to metering and Over-Pressure Protection System equipment (OPPS);
• Provision of new topside controls panel for Dunbar chemical injection and Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) using Emerson DeltaV equipment;
• Provision of Subsea Control Unit (SCU) to interface to the Subsea Control Modules (SCMs) using Emerson DeltaV Equipment.
• Provision of the Subsea Power and Communications Unit (SPCU) housing the stepup transformers for subsea power and subsea communications modems for signal on power.
• Third Party Unit housing four industrial PCs with a communications interface to subsea for Corrosion Monitoring, Subsea Multi-Phase Flow Metering, Sand Monitoring and Down-Hole Gauges.
